You're Going to Die Presents:
Alive Conversation w/Báyò Akómoláfé
featuring music from Singing the Bones
recorded live for You're Going to Die: The Podcast with your host Ned Buskirk

Join us for an enlivening evening of holding the light & dark in community, with a live recorded conversation and Q&A with widely celebrated international speaker, posthumanist thinker, poet, teacher, public intellectual, essayist, and author Báyò Akómoláfé, followed by music from Singing the Bones, hosted by You're Going to Die's Ned Buskirk, and featuring poetry from Amanda Nagai. The evening will be recorded for an episode of You're Going to Die: The Podcast.

Báyò Akómoláfé is the grateful life-partner to ‘EJ’, father to Alethea Aanya and Kyah Jayden Abayomi, son of Olufunmilayo Ibidapo Akomolafe and Ignatius Abayomi Akomolafe, and descendant of Yoruba fields of archetypal becomings and mythopoeic landscapes. He is an author, celebrated speaker, teacher, and self-styled trans-public intellectual (a concept imagined together with and inspired by the shamanic priesthood of the Yoruba healer-trickster)- whose vocation goes beyond justice and speaking truth to power to opening up other spaces of power-with, and queering fond formulations and configurations of hope. - https://www.bayoakomolafe.net/

Singing the Bones is a collaboration of three American artists from different lineages sharing the folk music of their ancestral cultures. Kele Nitoto plays songs from the Congo, Haiti, and South Africa; M'Gilvry Allen plays music from Ireland, Scotland, and Scandinavia; Lydia Violet plays songs from Iran and Armenia. As they take turns centering the music from each of these places, they also take turns supporting each other, weaving their ancestries together into a dynamic musical conversation. - https://lydiafiddle.com/singing-the-bones
